Brent Greenwood

Brent Greenwood is a Chickasaw/Ponca artist who resides in Edmond, OK.  His acrylic paintings derive their subject matter from historical and current cultural events with artistic influences including pop art and abstract expressionism. His figurative work incorporates “faceless personalities”, allowing the viewers to be active participants and impose their own portrayal of the individual’s characteristics.  However, each figure has a distinguishing personality with insinuated visible features.  Other paintings rely on mixed media elements or color theory to convey mood, much like the late abstract expressionist Mark Rothko.
